Angela & John got married on a glorius summer day on a hillside.  Thomas Fogarty is just stunning!  It was a beautiful wedding with one of my favorite readings I’ve ever heard at a wedding in seven years of shooting.  Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the wedding planning and process, this event was definately about a marriage.  I’ve added it below the photos from part I.   Congratulations you two, I am so happy for the future you have together. Come back tomorrow for part II – the couple, all the pretty things and of course the party!

The Invitation, by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting
your hearts longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk
looking a fool for love,
for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are square in your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow,
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and
closed down from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without
moving, to hide it, fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own; if you can
dance with wildness and let ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers
and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or to
remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true yourself;
if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every
day, and if you can source your life on the edge of the lake and shout
to the silver of the moon in God’s presence.
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the
children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know, or how you came here.
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and
not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like
the company you keep in empty moments.

Now for Jenna & Luke part II!  One of my favorite things about these two is how much fun they are and how Jenna lights up in front of the camera.  The wedding day was beautiful and it was a special treat to be able to photograph them in the very spot where they met in the Power & Light district. You could tell that everyone that shared in the day loves them so much and was there to celebrate the life they are beginning.  I know they will have an amazing future together.  Wishing all my best for you two, now on to the photos! I was so excited when Jenna asked me to shoot her wedding. She and Luke were a referral from the awesome Tara & Johnny and the second in a group of five sorority sisters/friends/real sisters who I am going to photograph over the next year.  How lucky am I!  Anyway Jenna and Luke’s wedding was as wonderful as I imagined.  The ceremony was held at the Redemptorist and the reception at the Hilton President. Very close friends and family and lots of relatives from Poland.  One of the highlights of the day was when Luke’s Polish family sang a song to the newlyweds at the reception.  I have no idea what they were singing but it made for great photos.  So here is Part I of the day – all the fun stuff before the wedding through the ceremony.  Come back tomorrow for Part II (that would be all the fun stuff after the ceremony).  Congrats you two, I am so excited to share these with you!

So excited to share part II of Annie and Renee’s wedding. It was such a fun celebration. I couldn’t help myself, I’m sure I’ve never posted so many photos from a first dance or a father-daughter dance but these dances were amazing. There was a special bond between Annie and her father and I know how thankful she was to have him with her on her wedding day. Renee and her father danced to That’s All and it was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. And the couple’s first dance totally rocked as you can see below. I hope anyone seeing these feels just like they were there. Annie & Renee I wish you a lifetime of happiness. Thank you for letting me be there!

A big thanks to Natalie Moser for shooting this wedding with me! It’s always so fun to work with you. I hope we can do it again next year.
