A few weeks ago I got a call from my good friend (and former bride) Erin Cole about shooting some salon shots for her. I was thrilled. Erin is always a blast to work with and I just heart her and her work so much! Her jewelry line is out of this world. I was also excited about seeing some of the shots I did for her ad campaign last year blown up and hanging on the walls.
So we settled on a date when the amazing Judd Waddell would be having his trunk show in the salon. I personally had never been to a trunk show and was excited to see what exactly went on. What a treat for the brides who had appointments that day! Can you imagine having the designer of your gown in the store while you’re trying it on and HE is going to fit you? For one bride he even combined two designs right there on the spot, and brides who purchased one of Judd’s gowns that day received a sketch of their gown autographed by Judd. I think that is pretty wonderful. It is also funny because my knowledge of designers in the fashion industry is pretty much limited to Project Runway. With all the drama and egos. Judd is so down to earth, such a nice guy. As an artist it was fun for me to watch his reaction as the gals put on his gowns. You could tell he was genuinely interested in every bride that came through that door. So between Judd and the amazing gals at Erin Cole, it was a real treat for everyone. I think you can tell from the photos and the note from a past client, Erin and her staff are all about making your wedding gown experience exceptional on all levels. It was all I could do to not just rip off my clothes and start trying on gowns too – haha! So here are some photos from the day. This Friday and Saturday one of the designers from Rivini will be at Erin Cole and you can check out Judd’s website to see where he will be for the rest of the year. Have a great day everyone!

This next series is my favorite.

Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful holiday season. And a very Happy New Year!

really I’m still working but a few more pics from Sunday’s shenanigans.

just wanted to share two pics from sunday. Now back to work.

I’m enjoying a few days away with my husband. I will back in the studio Monday answering emails and phone calls. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Below the beautiful view at the Carneros Inn.

while I was out in New Mexico for Amy and Ana’s wedding I shot some bridals with Nicole. Nicole came out to shoot the wedding with me and brought along her gown so we could have some fun. She’s getting married next year were just not sure when yet. I wish more gals in CA would do bridal shoots. I kind of think of them like a day after shoot without the groom who doesn’t want to be there! I’M KIDDING! I know all MY grooms really love the day after shoots! Anyway here’s a little peak of Nicole’s bridals Part I. I say Part I cause who knows if we will do more. These were done in about 45 minutes at about 7 am. After shooting a wedding the day before. And it was cold, cold. My fingers were frozen. And poor Nicole was turning blue towards the end. I think you’ve got the picture. But still, I think I might want to move to New Mexico, what a goldmine of shooting opportunities.

well lots. I just returned from Amy and Ana’s amazing wedding in Pinos Altos, New Mexico, it was great! Now I’m home for a full 10 days before heading off to Jamaica for a destination wedding I’m so excited about. Before I leave I plan to blog a few weddings (I think there are 6 in a holding pattern waiting to make an appearance on the blog!) and a few other fun things. So please hang in there. I know things have been quiet on the old blog lately but my shooting schedule is slowing down a little and wedding season is coming to an end. That means time to share some of the wonderful weddings I haven’t had a chance to share yet. Meanwhile…here’s a photo from a bridal shoot I did for my good friend, and wonderful photographer, Nicole while we were in New Mexico this weekend. This was taken with the 45mm tilt shift and I love the dreamlike quality. More coming soon. And yes, some in focus.

what’s THAT about. Yes, I’m suffering from a case of I haven’t had time to blog this week and I’m feeling incredibly guilty. So I’m confessing and hoping to start next week with a clean slate! I have a great wedding this weekend in Solvang and about 5 others to blog too with 2 whole week of no weddings. So look out. There’s gonna be lots of new stuff on the Leigh Miller Photography Blog. In the meantime here are Sylvia and Adrian. I heart them. Be back soon!
