the ceremony and before the big party.  I remember exactly how I felt at this
moment … completely calm & happy… very in the moment.

This is my favorite photo from the wedding because it captures what I hoped my wedding to be—pure joy. At the heart of our wedding and in this photo is the love between Charles and I. We look giddy with happiness. A wedding is also about relationships and the people who have shaped who we are. To see such radiating happiness in our closest family and friend’s faces surrounding us made us feel so blessed.

I’m still here! I promise.  I’ve been back from visiting the family for about a week and just catching up on things.  I have lots and lots to blog and will be catching up soon.  For now I will leave you with one little pic from Mindy and Tim’s awesome engagement session from yesterday.  More coming soon!

I’m honored to announce the winner of the Giving is Awesome portrait session…well winners .  There was no way I could choose between these two wonderful people.  I will be doing sessions for Avery and her family and for Dianne and her family.  Avery and Dianne don’t even know each other but have one thing in common.  They both have cancer.  Avery is a little girl about to turn 4 and Dianne is a single mom raising a family while going through chemotherapy.  I have a feeling I’m going to be the one who feels blessed after this project.  With permission I will come and share their photos on the blog after the sessions.  Thank you to everyone who sent in entries. 

On a side note I will be out of the studio and visiting family January 1-12.  I will be back in the studio on January 13th.  Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy 2009.  Now a photo from one of my favorite peaceful places.
