More from Katie & Preston’s wedding at the lovely Condor’s Nest Ranch! Below the photos see Katies write up about how she and Preston planned their wedding as well as all their amazing vendors. It was such a pleasure working with everyone on this fabulous wedding and I so appreciate my good friend and just all around amazing person Katrina Wallace, Sedona Bride for coming out to shoot with me! Enjoy!

and if you missed it, Part I.

We wanted a wedding that was homey. Since we couldn’t have it at one of our homes, we found the Condor’s Nest Ranch (thecondorsnestranch.com) to sub as our home away from home. We wanted everything to feel like we were having a party with our friends and family, we brought out all of our things from the house and we were getting married! We searched for mismatched salad and dessert plates, tea cups, quilts. We made benches, had hay dropped off. We covered 300 buttons with fabric and made 300 fabric napkins! We wanted to give back so we had people vote for which charity we should give our money to. As for my outfit, I wanted something romantic and still me. Kate Towers (katetowers.com) made my dress custom. My shoes were a completely random find by my mom and yes, the brand was Kate&Preston. So perfect especially for the blue color cobalt blue shoe. I found the veil and hair flower on Etsy from Austie (http://www.etsy.com/shop/austie). I wore pearl earrings I already owned and borrowed a pearl bracelet from my mom. My something old was a handkerchief from my late aunt. Erin of Salon HG (http://www.salonhg.com/) did my makeup and I have never felt more beautiful. Angela, also from Salon HG did my hair and I keep getting compliments on how good it looked. My wonderful bridesmaids had the freedom to choose whatever blue dress they wanted, within some parameters. They all have great style and I love the way it turned out! Preston’s suit and the groomsmen’s pants were from J.Crew. My mom handmade all the ties to coordinate with the mismatched look of the girls dresses. The colored socks were from We Love Colors (welovecolors.com). We wanted food that was as organic and local as possible so we worked with EcoCaters to make that happen. Our desserts were made by Beth Renaud. Our idea was to have our favorite desserts, like the things our grandmas used to make, but make them the best they could possibly be! Beth took that idea and gave us some of the best desserts any of us have had. My mouth still waters over that banana cream puff! Laura and Blake from Hoot & Heart (http://www.householdhorticulture.com/blogs/projects) are amazing and did all the florals. I gave Laura some photos, told her what we were looking for and let her do the rest. She is a genius at knowing exactly what will work and my idea was to let the professionals do their thing! The flowers were better than anything I could have ever dreamed. Our DJ was the incomparable Human Jukebox, DJ of the Flashdance (theflashdance.com). He kept everyone dancing until the end, when we finally dragged ourselves away from the dance floor and into Preston’s awesome red truck. And our good friend and fabulous cinematographer Ben Bonnet Films (http://benbonnetfilms.com). One big thing that was awesome surprise is that I won DOC services! Our DOC Katrina (http://www.thecheshirekat.com/) was awesome and made it so I never had to think about the logistics of the wedding day. I really felt I could enjoy everything that was going on and she never let on that anything was wrong, even when it was! She dealt with problems as they arose and hustled! I’m so thankful to have had her there as my point person. I would be remiss in not thanking my mom, who I truly believe should start her own Etsy site, because she sewed all the other things that I haven’t mentioned already: flower girls’ dresses, ring bearer’s pants & hats, the table runners, the napkins. She took every crazy idea I had and ran with it: mismatched salad plates for 200, done, 60 ft table runners, done. My dad just laughed like we were crazy, but we had a great time tracking everything down! I couldn’t have done it without Preston’s family as well, who made benches for our guests to sit on, constructed the lights that ran over our dinner tables, made signs from a wooden palate and a million other things that my post-wedding brain can’t think of. Our wedding was truly a community effort and the love we felt while planning and on the actual day was inconceivable. We feel so blessed to have had such a magical wedding day!
