and I’m on a blog roll! I’m catching up on all my blogging before I leave for a workshop on Friday in Dallas. I will be gone for a week working on my photojournalism skills. I can’t wait. For one week I get to act like a real photojournalist. I will get an assignment and go out and shoot it and come back and have some of the best photographers in the country guiding me as I put my story together. I’m so excited and can’t wait for the challenge!!! So this week is catch up on the blog week! First Nari and Wyatt’s engagement and in the next week look for Katie and Marcus’ Mexico wedding and Kimber and Josiah’s California wedding.

Yesterday I met Nari and Wyatt in Sierre Madre for their engagement session. There was a little park not far from where they live and it had the coolest trees and scenery. I loved it. The whole time we where there I thought about the photos of my mom, uncle and grandparents from their family vacations in the 50s and 60s and how this place reminded me of those old photos I have looked at all my life. So I processed these photos to have that same feel.

Nari and Wyatt are so awesome! Wyatt was a little nervous and said at first it was as bad as a trip to the dentist. By the end he was ready to write a testimonial for the blog saying it’s not so bad after you get used to it.  Send that on anytime you’re ready Wyatt ;)  I had a great time. See you guys soon at the wedding!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Jackie and Albert in downtown San Diego for their engagement shoot. We hadn’t met before so it was nice to meet them, hangout for a while and hear more about the wedding. I’m so looking forward to what I know will be a fabulous day. Thanks guys for a fun afternoon! Last week I did something a little different, I shot an ad for Erin Cole.  I shot Erin and Michael’s wedding in December and was so excited when she asked me to shoot her new ad!  Does it get any more fun than this? It was a blast.  I got to spend the day with all these fabulous women including Erin, of course, Ysabel our gorgeous model, and Mimi of Enjoy Celebrations and Occasions.  I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mimi a number of times including shooting her engagement and wedding and then again on Erin’s wedding.  It’s so awesome the friends I make in this business!  So here are a few photos from the shoot that caught my eye.

I have been looking forward to Ellyn and Rey’s wedding for quite some time. If you’ve been following my blog you may remember their enagagement session from over a year ago (back when the blog pics were small).  We did their engagement session so early because Rey was being deployed to Iraq.  In fact they had already had a legal ceremony before Rey left.  Thank goodness he’s back, safe and sound, and here is a preview from their “real wedding.”  Things don’t always go off as planned as it was about the rainiest Saturday I’ve ever seen in San Diego but it was still a beautiful day!  And you can see they are a total blast!!!  However I will say, Rey really makes me earn my money because he attempts to throw me off with his funny faces ;)  Congrats Ellyn and Rey!!! It was an honor to be a part of your wedding day and it’s been such a pleasure getting to know you over this year since we did first met.
