I hope anyway! It’s that time of year again when I’m gone more than I’m home. I will be out of the studio until 9/7. I’m currently in NYC but am traveling on to England for a wedding and then on to Paris for a few days for some shooting there too. I will be checking my email as I can but am not sure what it will be like when I get to England. So please hang in there. I will be in touch as soon return to the studio, if not sooner :)
This will most likely be my last blog post for a week or so. That is unless I get incredibly ambitious and decide I don’t need to sleep at all. But what a great entry to go out on :) I’m beyond excited to be posting Erin and Matt’s wedding! Erin is my husband’s cousin and Ryan and I were thrilled to be going to the Cape for a few days to see our family and to go to this wedding. It was a great trip and I know we’re both sad it’s over.
But on to Erin and Matt. I still remember the day Erin called to tell us she was getting married. She told us all about the wedding plans, Matt and how wonderful he was (but we already guessed that because he was marrying Erin). And it was a beautiful wedding on the Cape in Brewster at the Ocean Edge Resort. The beach was an amazing backdrop and Erin looked so beautiful and had the most gorgeous dress. Everyone had a great time and it was such a celebration. Congrats Erin and Matt!!! We’re so excited for you and both the families. We hope to see you soon either in CA or somewhere east.

Auntie Lanie (aka the mother of the bride) throwing boutonnieres over the balcony.

Isn’t this a beautiful setting? Woo-hoo, my husband Ryan took this pic. (Thanks for helping me out all day! love you)

I love this moment.

And this one too.

This photo just cracks me up. Erin is so happy and surprised by the flowers coming right at her.

Waving at the grandparents who watched the ceremony from the balcony above.

Don’t you just love these two.

In true Cape Cod style. Everyone got their own lobster. What a treat. A big thanks to Uncle David for cracking mine open for me.

And the blogging extravaganza continues!!! I’m so glad to have found a minute on my trip out east to post two weddings. First Kristen and Chad. I had really been looking forward to Chad and Kristen’s wedding ever since I met them and then even more after the great engagement session we had a few months ago. They were just such a pleasure to be around! And I always enjoy shooting other photographers (take a look at Chad’s work). The had a beautiful wedding at The Powerhouse in Del Mar followed by a reception at L’Auberge. The location really worked out well because its close to a train station and tracks and then of course the beach. So without further delay here is a little preview. Have a great time on the honeymoon guys!!! See you when you get back.

This grandma was really showing me up! And to make it worse Kristen and Chad told me she would have HER pics uploaded and online by the next morning. I kid you not!

Hey John, who’s your favorite photographer?

These single gals didn’t even know what hit them.

And the reaction.

A few weeks ago I jetted off to Sonoma to meet Jana and Juan. They hired me a while but we had never met. Did all our communication through emails and phone calls. It was so nice to finally meet them and be a part of their wedding day! Now every wedding is special but I felt particuliarly honored and excited for these two. They had originally planned to marry about 3 years ago but Jana was diagnosed with a serious illness and everything had to be put on hold. I’m happy to say she beat that illness, finished law school and took the bar within a few weeks of the wedding day. So you can imagine the extra joy and celebration at this wedding. These are two people who love each other very much and I’m fairly certain will never take each other for granted! Hope you are enjoying the honeymoon! Best wishes again on a long happy life together. You both deserve it :) Now on to the preview!

Look who I found! A little jayhawk :)

The food was amazing. I’m not sure who did the catering but I will find out and come back and post their info. Some of the best food I’ve had at a wedding all year!

More celebrating!!!

Isn’t this a spectacular setting.

Here are the last images from my most recent trip to Mexico. I took a few extra days and Riccis and I took a little road trip. It was quite an adventure. Along the way we stopped at a cool place called Art & Beer near Todos Santos and then stopped in a little Mexican ghost town where we met Tomas and Maria Antonia. We spent a couple of hours at their place listening to their story and the story of the little abandoned town they lived in. It was heartbreaking really. Next time I’m back that way I definately plan on stopping by their place.
