I’m going to do a little bragging now! I have been a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association for a little over a year now and have recently been accepted into the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association. This is a great honor as the only way to to be accepted is to place in one of their quarterly contests. Here’s what the AGWPJA says about its photographers and membership -

The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA is a group of international wedding photojournalists, who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, and excel in the art of post-production image processing. The [AG]WPJA is a division within the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA); one which specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism. The [AG]WPJA hosts quarterly contests, in which only WPJA members may participate. Photographers whose images attain 1st-10th place, receive a personal invitation for [AG]WPJA membership. This is the only way to become a member of the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association–by invitation.

Only 30 images were selected in the latest contest and there are only 12 photographers in California who have been invited to join the AGWPJA. I just returned from Riviera Maya, Mexico where April and Nate had the most beautiful wedding. It was such a celebration with their closest family and friends. I feel so honored to have been a part of it. I love doing destination weddings because it gives me the chance to get to know the most important people in my couples’ lives. This wedding was a blast!!! Not only are April and Nate beautiful people on the outside, they are wonderful people on the inside too. And both have the most fun families. You’d think these two families had been joined for years. So enough from me, here is a brief preview. Or if you’d like to see more click here for a slideshow from the entire day.
