Once again I find myself thrilled to be sharing a new wedding. I know I sound like a broken record but I get to work with the best couples in the whole wide world. And couples who always seem to have the most amazing family and friends. It just really makes my job such a joy. Emily and Michael were a referral from another great couple of mine, Rose and Alex. It was so nice to see them and Rose’s parents again. As you will see below and in part 2 as well, Emily and Michael had a visually spectacular wedding. One of the most beautiful I have every photographed. Every detail was perfect. But honestly it was the two of them that made it truly beautiful. They are both so kind, thoughtful, easy going and humble. Emily actually designed the bridesmaids gowns and is the owner of Style Up America. And Michael’s newest film, Save the Date, was chosen for the Sundance Film Festival. Michael actually produced the film Waitress (yes the first thing I asked him was if Andy Griffith was going to be at the wedding!) and he and his mom danced to Baby Don’t You Cry (The Pie Song) from the movie. It has become my favorite song to sing to the twins and they love it! Anyway, on with the show. Here is part 1 of their lovely evening wedding at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium. Be sure and come back for part 2…photos of the couple, the details, the party, and of course all the great people they collaborated with to make it happen. Congrats to you both! Wishing you a fantastic 2012!

To say 2011 was a wonderful year for me both professionally and personally would be an understatement. Here’s a little of what went on at home as seen through the iphone. Wishing everyone a wonderful 2012, I cannot wait to see all the fun this new year brings!

I had a blast shooting one of my best friends Kelley and her little man Sully at my favorite pumpkin patch, the Weston Red Barn Farm. And although it was in the morning, fall light is so nice. I have to admit, since having little ones of my own again I have a renewed interest in shooting families and especially mommies and babies. It is so much fun. I recently did a day in the life with Sully, mommy AND daddy. I was there for 13 hours, before they got out of bed until Sully crashed. Be sure and come back to see that soon :) And a rare but really awesome photo Kelley managed to capture of me and the boys. Yes, I’m slowly but surely getting over my fear of the camera. Mostly for the sake of my children. Thank you Kelley! Love ya!

are having a baby, or else Darbi swallowed a basketball! How cute is she? I think Darbi is the model for what all pregnant women want to look like – no butt spread, no fat face, no swollen feet. Oh well, a gal can dream. Anyway I am so thrilled to be sharing these photos from Darbi and Neil’s session. Not only is Darbi a good friend but also a wonderful photographer and it’s always a special honor to shoot for other professionals. I am also BEYOND thrilled that I will be shooting little baby XXX’s birth in January. What a great story that will be to share. Congrats you two. I cannot wait to meet triple X!

only 6 months after the fact, but here are the pics from our father’s day session. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what to get the husband for his very first father’s day while driving home from a wedding, yes the night before. When it hit me…an early morning session in bed with the babies. A great big thank you to Janelle Vano for doing these so last minute. I hope to do them every year until it gets us on awkward family photos! Come back in July and I might have some Christmas photos up.

Julie & Seth are just another reason I love doing what I do. I cannot believe the wonderful variety of weddings I’ve had the honor of photographing this year. It’s not very often I get to photograph a wedding held in a church that is over 100 years old and also where the bride’s grandparents and parents got married. I love it, so much history! Congrats you two, it was my pleasure to be a part of your day. I know the future holds such great things for you!

Oh that’s just little ole me, shooting these two amazingly lovely, sweet and talented people on the balcony of John Boehner. But seriously, so honored to be a part of Emily and Michael’s wedding weekend in DC. Truly one of the nicest couples I have ever worked with. Cannot wait to share the wedding. For now, please enjoy the engagement.
