One little pic…

February 1, 2010

I’m back! I took at bit of a break from blogging but am happy to say, I’m back. And ready to kick off this year with 3 wonderful weddings from January. Let’s start with Molly & Zak. After the ceremony they snuck off to the diner at the Ace Hotel for a quiet moment. I love that! Up next…Kristy & Blake.

As promised more of Elena & Gregory’s wedding celebration (see Day 1 here).  Elena and Gregory both live in Florence and work at the Florence Opera where they met.  Elena is Italian and American.  She grew up in Italy with lots and lots of trips to American and San Francisco where her mother’s family lives.  Gregory is French.  So this was a truly international celebration!  Anyway it seems it was about a year ago when I got the first email from Elena asking if I would be willing to come to Italy to shoot her wedding.  I really had to think hard about it…for all of about 2 seconds.  Yes, Yes, Yes!  So for a year I enjoyed the most wonderful email correspondence with Elena who thankfully speaks both English and Italian.  Then finally September rolls around and I head off to Italy and finally got to meet her and Gregory in person.  And what a wonderful celebration the wedding week was!  Elena styled the entire wedding herself and it was perfection (see contact info below, she’s taking weddings for 2010).  There was love and laughter and of course music!  So here it is, Day 2 of Elena & Gregory’s super duper Italy wedding.  Baci!

I’m thrilled to be sharing images from day 1 of Elena & Gregory’s amazing italian wedding. How lucky am I to get to go all the way to Florence to photograph this two day international celebration! I’m breaking this up into two posts, today the ceremony in Florence, come back in a few days for part 2, all the great details and moments from their tuscan castle reception and of course one of my favorite parts of shooting a wedding, the couples photos.

So happy to be sharing Marlee & Dave’s wedding day!  These two were all smiles (and some funny faces) all day long.  It was such a pleasure being a part of their wedding and to get to work with one of my very favorite wedding stylist - Rebecca Stone of Duet Weddings.  Marlee and Dave are such a kind and caring couple, not to just each other but everyone around them.  Marlee send me the nicest email after the wedding, before she even saw one photo.  Isn’t it nice to feel appreciated!  Congrats you two!

What happens when a gorgeous Hungarian and a handsome Latino meet while working on the set of Hellboy 2? Fireworks! And plenty of them. I loved everything about Orso and Javier’s wedding. They are truly two of the most kind and gracious souls I’ve photographed. There were so many personal touches that made their wedding special including homemade bread rolls called Pogácsa that Orso made herself and the Palinka shots made by her father which Orso personally served to the guests. Her shoes were designed by one of her best friends and bridesmaids Reka Vago . Orso and Javier lovingly referred to these shoes as Orso’s superhero shoes!  And I learned the intials of the gal still on the bottom of the shoes after the bride dances all night is the next to get married. So without further delay, here’s what weddings and life should be all about. Enjoy!
