You might remember Sarah & Jarrett’s wedding because it wasn’t even a year ago. Well they got the shock of their lives when a few months after the wedding Sarah found out she was pregnant. That in and of it self was probably a little bit of a surprise but when Sarah went to the dr for what was a routine ultrasound she really got a surprise. They were having triplets!!! Having just had twins I couldn’t help but feel an immediate bond. I was so excited for them. But also just having had twins I was thinking…oh man! tripletts?!? I have to say I was so impressed with how these two are doing. They have it down. It takes incredible teamwork and dedication to manage and love multiples and these two blew me away. I am so happy for all 5 of you. They even let me hang around and just hold a baby for a while. Mine having just turned 1 I really cannot believe how fast that first year goes by. Enjoy guys! And congrats, they are beautiful.

I had such a great time with Allie & Jeremy shooting their engagement session. It didn’t feel like working at all! They were so easy and in love and barely seemed to notice the camera at all. I cannot wait until their wedding, I know its going to be a gorgeous fall KC celebration. Congrats you two!!!

and I cannot wait to photograph it! This will be my second wedding for this family and they are so much fun. (See sister Tara’s wedding here.) I know it will be a celebration!!! Initally Maddie and Matt did not have an engagement session planned but Matt contacted me and surprised Maddie for Christmas. He said it was rare that a gift he gave her made her cry. So I am especially excited to share these. Enjoy!

I’ve been trying to write this post for some time now. I have to say it has been hard to figure out what to write for such a momentous occasion. The birth of a baby. A new life entering the world. Although I’ve had 4 children myself watching someone else go through it gives me a whole new respect for what women go through. I felt a bit in a haze after all my births, ones with meds and without. It seemed the world was moving at normal speed around me while my mind worked in slow motion. Somehow I felt more present at a birth I was photographing than at my own. So many, many congrats to Darbi & Neil who had the most amazing perfect little guy. We love him so much already and I know he is going to be big buddies with Sammy & Tommy in years to come. Enjoy some pics below but please dont miss the slideshow that tells the story of the entire day.

I have to say I had a wonderful time with Courtney and Lance. And I also have to say I shot in one of the most unusual locations ever for an engagement session, Chick-fil-A. The only thing Lance loves almost as much as Courtney is Chick-fil-A. So of course it made sense to start our session there. Then we were on to Vanderbilt where Courtney went to school. Cannot wait for their Kansas City wedding! Enjoy!

for Maddie & Matt who are getting married in June. I shot Tara’s (Maddie’s sister) wedding and cannot wait to see this family again and be a part of another family celebration, more coming soon! PS – You can see Tara’s amazing art here – http://www.taraandris.com/ - I’ve got my eye on one of those for the boys room!

for Janna & Yan who had a wonderful wedding celebration with family and friends. More of this fun wedding coming soon!
